Why I Love Shooting In London
As a London fashion photographer, I’m constantly inspired by the layers of style, history, and modernity woven into every corner of the city. Whether I’m shooting an editorial in Mayfair, a cinematic portrait in Soho, or a studio session in Shoreditch, London’s diversity fuels my creativity.
London offers a backdrop for every story. Classical architecture, modern skylines, and hidden gardens give fashion campaigns an edge—whether the mood is minimal or maximal. I love how you can shoot a full campaign between Regent Street, Southbank, and Hampstead Heath, all in one day.
What truly sets London apart is its creative culture. Stylists, models, makeup artists—many of the best I’ve worked with are based here. The energy is global, but the perspective is local.
My goal as a fashion photographer is always to blend luxury storytelling with editorial depth—and London offers the perfect canvas.
If you’re looking for model portfolio packages in London, London fashion campaign photography, or simply a timeless image in a timeless city, I’d love to create something with you.
Why I Love Shooting In Manchester
Why I Love Shooting in Manchester
As a Manchester-based fashion photographer, I’m drawn to the raw mood and style that this city offers. Manchester’s industrial roots, creative scene, and unapologetic attitude make it an inspiring place to work.
Shooting around Ancoats, Castlefield, or even Northern Quarter, I find atmospheres that feel like they belong on the pages of Re-Edition or i-D. From moody B&W fashion films to bold coloured campaign shoots, Manchester allows me to flex both sides of my aesthetic.
The talent in the city —models, stylists, MUAs—is continually pushing forward. And the accessibility of studio spaces makes it a go-to for building affordable, quality model portfolios.
Whether it’s a fashion editorial, model portfolio package in Manchester, or a concept-driven video shoot, this city always delivers edge with soul.
Why I love Shooting In Liverpool
Liverpool might surprise you. As a fashion and portrait photographer working in Liverpool, I’ve found it to be one of the most cinematic cities in the UK.
The historic streets, industrial textures, and Northern light all add character to images. Areas like The Georgian Quarter, Cains Brewery Village, and Albert Dock are favourites of mine for moody fashion films or headshot sessions with grit and depth.
There’s a creative honesty in Liverpool. I meet models, actors, and creators who are building something real—and that energy brings an authenticity to every shoot.
It’s also an ideal place for accessible model portfolio packages and Studio C headshots—clients want high-end results without the London price tag.
Whether it’s an editorial fashion story or a clean, natural portrait session, Liverpool gives me light, texture, and spirit.
Why I don’t over stylise…
Why I Don’t Over-Direct: My Natural Approach to Capturing Human Performances
As a fashion and portrait photographer working across London and the northwest, I’ve learned that the most powerful images come from real, unforced moments. Beauty is imperfect.
In every model portfolio shoot, editorial campaign, or headshot session, my goal is to create a space where the subject feels seen, confident, and relaxed—because that’s when the magic happens.
High-End Fashion Doesn’t Mean Over-Posed
It isn’t about the technicalities of it all. They should only serve to enhance the model’s performance. “Colla voce” is the Italians say- the music follows the voice. Whether I’m shooting a new face for a London model agency portfolio, or directing a fashion film in the Peak District, I avoid forced poses and extended waiting times.
Instead, I look for performance and how someone inhabits the space, the clothes, and their own presence. It has to feel like them.
I’ll give direction, of course. But the real impact comes when a subject is moving, breathing, reacting, not just holding a pose. Think Peter Lindbergh, Hedi Slimane, Vogue editorials—there’s movement, story, feeling.
A Natural Approach Means Better Images
Clients often tell me they’re “not models.” That’s perfect. I don’t want rehearsed perfection—I want presence.
By creating a shoot environment that’s light, calm, and purposeful, I help models and creatives deliver natural, high-impact performances.
Even in studio headshots, I avoid cookie-cutter lighting or identical setups. I choose light based on what brings out personality and character of the individual. That’s how I capture images that feel timeless and true.
Performance as Storytelling
In my recent editorial photography projects and fashion video shoots, I’ve blended cinematic direction with still imagery—giving the model a scenario or emotion to react to.
This isn’t just for aesthetics. It helps the subject forget the camera and fall into a flow state, which results in portraits and fashion photos that feel real.
When shooting model portfolio packages for clients in London, Liverpool, or Manchester, I often shoot behind-the-scenes video too. These moments reveal as much value as the final shot.
Why This Matters for Your Portfolio
Whether you’re an agency-signed model or booking your first shoot, this approach means:
• You’ll feel comfortable and directed, not over-managed.
• You’ll walk away with images that look unique and professional, not generic.
• Your headshots, portraits, and editorials will reflect your authentic energy.
